The Vice Pro Plus golf ball has garnered a strong following, with many golfers seeking a high-performance ball without the premium price tag of brands like Titleist. This review analyzes 150 user reviews to provide an in-depth understanding of the Vice Pro Plus, its strengths, weaknesses, and overall value. The reviews are sourced from Amazon and Reddit, offering a diverse range of perspectives from both casual and serious golfers.
Many reviewers rave about the Vice Pro Plus's performance, often comparing it favorably to the Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x. Several users highlight the ball's excellent feel, spin control, and distance. Zane G. stated, "The Best Golf Ball Ever Made," praising its performance on drives and around the greens. Others echo this sentiment, noting the ball's ability to generate spin on approach shots while maintaining a lower spin rate off the tee, leading to increased distance. u/murgeRekwest was looking for a ball to lower spin rate and gain distance with their driver, which is a common desire.
However, some reviews suggest that the ball's performance might not be a perfect fit for all players. u/CWSfan16, a bogey golfer, mentioned that they weren't sure they could take full advantage of the higher-spin ball. This suggests that the Vice Pro Plus might be better suited for players with higher swing speeds or those who prioritize spin control.
Pros:
* Excellent Performance: Many reviewers find the ball performs as well as or better than Pro V1s and TP5s.
* Good Feel: Users consistently mention the ball's pleasant feel, both off the tee and around the greens.
* Distance: Several users report increased distance off the tee, attributed to the ball's lower spin characteristics.
* Value for Money: The direct-to-consumer model allows Vice to offer the Pro Plus at a lower price point than competitors.
* Spin Control: The ball provides good spin control on approach shots, allowing for precise shot-making.
* Durability: Some users found the cover surprisingly durable, withstanding the rigors of course play.
Cons:
* Durability Concerns: Some reviewers express concerns about the ball's durability, with the cover showing wear and tear after a few rounds.
* Bulk Purchase Required: To get the best value, you often need to buy the balls in bulk, which might not suit all golfers.
* Not for Everyone: Some users may not fully benefit from the ball's high-spin characteristics, particularly those with slower swing speeds.
The Vice Pro Plus appears to be a compelling option for golfers seeking a high-performance ball at a reasonable price. The positive reviews highlight its excellent feel, distance, and spin control, making it a strong contender against established brands. The value proposition is particularly attractive, especially for those willing to buy in bulk. However, potential buyers should consider their swing speed and playing style to determine if the ball's characteristics align with their game. While the ball receives high praise, it's important to note the mixed feedback on durability. Overall, the Vice Pro Plus is a strong choice for many golfers, offering a blend of performance and value that's hard to beat. The ball is a strong contender for those looking to upgrade their ball without breaking the bank. The consensus is that the Vice Pro Plus is a great ball, especially if purchased in bulk, making it a cost-effective alternative to premium brands. The ball's performance is often compared favorably to Titleist Pro V1x, but the lower price point makes it a more accessible option for many golfers.
Visibility is fantastic!. Great golf balls! I have only been buying Vice mostly this season and I love them. These red ones are my favorite yet and I’ve tried at least 6-10 different color waves. So easy to track and see from a distance. I was able to spot this ball 250 yards down the fairway with no problem.
Cool to use a legit well-made ball that is direct-to-consumer only - good value, and the real deal.. If you are a ProV player, give these a try, really nice balls with good feel and surprising durability of the cover. My boys and I used them on a father-sons annual golf weekend, this year was Palm Desert, so the warm weather was naturally (unfairly?) nice for feel and distance - but one of my boys is PGA, and really liked them compared to ProVs. I actually really like the "Vice" logo at address, which is meaningless to your score but it is a pleasant ball to look at. Good feel for putts with a composite face Odyssey, and it can be the short taps that really tell you if you like it as much as the big wallops do. Very nice trajectory and distance with mid irons, which I use a lot as my drives are always the shortest in the threesome! Will buy again.
Every bit as good as a pro v1 plus more at a fraction of the price. I have played pretty much every different top of the line ball over the years and always came back to the pro v1x. This is the first ball to change that. I tried the vice tour first before trying these and those are a good ball as well just a little too hard. When I tried my first dozen of the pro plus I liked them but wasn't sold on them. That is until i switched back to the pro v1s. I was leaving everything 5 yards short with about every club and the lower clubs near the PW was more like 8 yards. As soon I switched back to vice the difference was clear. For me that was enough there to switch for the price. Now as for spin, I found them to fly straighter than the pro v1s. As for back spin I love them. The pro v1s were too predictable and you could hit a good shot and spin the ball 10 feet back away from the pin. These things hit and stick. So much easier to control. I found the same thing for chipping, there isn't as much spin but it's way more consistent and easier to control. As for durability, a strong wedge shot will sometimes cut the cover but no differently than you would with the pro v1s.If you haven't tried these balls, you are hurting your game and your wallet. Give them a shot, you won't be sorry. Also I switched to the neon green and once you get used to it, you will not want to play with a white ball again. Almost impossible to lose and love it for putting now.
An honest review, been playing these for over a year.. So, these are great. They preform just as good as a pro V, or TP. I have not found a person who could honestly say different. You have to buy in bulk to make them cheap otherwise they cost pretty close to the same per ball, but buy 5 boxes and you won't regret it.The sample pack is great for picking your ball. I have the best preformace from the pro plus personally.Cons: the cover is not as durable as a pro V or TP. I hate to admit it, but it's not. I've split two covers on brand new balls with my wedge, never seen it happen before in my life. If you hit a tree the ball will be marked. I don't see a difference in preformace on a marked ball. But some people say there is although hitting a marked and in marked ball on a trackman will produce near identical preformace.Overall: I'm officially switched. They are worth it. Great preformace, low price, Average quality.
The Best Golf Ball Ever Made. All of my longest drives have been with this ball. I have used ProV1 & ProV1x, TP5x, Bridgestone, Callaway, Wilson Staff, you name it, I’ve played it. Lots of good golf balls out there but none as great as this one. Gets great spin on irons and wedges yet doesn’t spin up on drives. Has a soft but solid feel to it. Doesn’t feel like you’re hitting a marshmallow. The durability is also phenomenal. Played a full round with one of these that included shots out of the sand and out of lies that definitely should scratch a golf ball. After the round it still looks brand new. This ball is everything anyone could want from a golf ball and nothing they wouldn’t. Best golf ball ever. Bar none.
