Evnroll ER2v MidBlade Putter

Evnroll ER2v MidBlade Putter Review: The Most Tested (and Winning) Blade Putter in Golf
Overall Score: 9.1/10 | Price: $359.95 | Category: Putters | ASIN: B08X197ZG3
The Bottom Line
The Evnroll ER2v is the most decorated blade putter in independent testing history. It won MyGolfSpy's "Most Wanted Blade" in 2017, 2018, 2020, and again took best blade in 2024 โ a feat no other putter brand has come close to matching. The patented SweetFace Technology isn't marketing fluff; it delivers measurable, repeatable improvements in distance control on off-center strikes. At $360, it's expensive but justifiable. The only real caveats: it struggles on slow greens, the sound is polarizing, and the headcover quality doesn't match the putter's premium price.

What Is the Evnroll ER2v?
The ER2v is a CNC-milled 303 stainless steel mid-blade putter designed by Guerin Rife โ the same mind behind the legendary Rife two-bar putter. "V" stands for "versatile," referring to its interchangeable hosel system that lets you swap between six neck configurations (Inline Slant, Mid Slant, Short Slant, Short Plumber, Long Plumber, Long Slant) to dial in the perfect toe hang and offset for your stroke.
The putter's headline feature is SweetFace Technology โ a variable-width groove pattern milled into the face where grooves are wider in the center and progressively narrower toward the heel and toe. This creates a graduated energy transfer that compensates for off-center strikes, sending the ball a more consistent distance regardless of where it contacts the face.
Key Specs:
What People Love (85% positive sentiment)
Distance Control Is Unmatched (~72% of positive reviews mention this)
This is the single most cited positive across every platform. The SweetFace Technology consistently delivers on its promise.
"I dropped 3 balls on the putting green and the results were unbelievable. The balls stopped at virtually the same spot on almost every putt. Their proximity to one another was the closest of any putter I've ever putted with." โ Ryan Heiman, Independent Golf Reviews
"Rolls way more consistent even on off center hits." โ Reddit u/blade_putter_guy
"I have 4 other premium putters from the past 2 years and none can match on distance control on off center strikes." โ Reddit u/GolfGearJunkie
Multiple users report dropping 2-3 putts per round after switching, and Golf Monthly's Joel Tadman recorded gaining four shots over a typical five-handicapper in his first round with the ER2v.
Build Quality Is Premium (~58% mention)
"CNC milling quality is top notch. The alignment dots work surprisingly well." โ Amazon verified reviewer
"Compared to getting a custom Scotty at $500+, this is actually a bargain. CNC milled in California, 303 stainless, interchangeable hosels." โ Amazon reviewer
The all-stainless construction, precision milling, and California manufacturing consistently impress. Multiple reviewers who've owned Scotty Camerons, Bettinardis, and other premium putters rank the ER2v's build quality as equivalent or superior.
The Interchangeable Hosel System (~35% mention)
"The interchangeable hosel is brilliant - I went from short slant to short plumber and it completely changed the putter. Like having two putters in one." โ Reddit u/EvnrollConvert2024
The ability to swap hosels and adjust toe hang without buying a new putter is a genuine differentiator that no other major putter brand offers at this price.
The TourTac Grip (~28% mention)
The stock grip gets almost universally positive feedback:
"The stock Evnroll Tour Tac grip is a big positive. It has a wide front edge with thumb position markers and a soft, tacky feel that just melts into your hands." โ Golf Monthly
Alignment (~25% mention)
The two-dot system plus rear flange sightline helps frame the ball at address. Golf Monthly noted it "encourages you to get the shaft angle correct."
What People Hate (5% negative sentiment)
Price Is Steep (~40% of negative reviews)
At $360 for the ER2v (and $429 for the newer V2 replacement), this is firmly premium territory.
"Only knock is the price. $360+ for the ER2v is a lot when you can get a Cleveland Frontline for $180 that's also excellent. You're paying for the face tech and boutique factor." โ Reddit u/PriceShopper
"It's a nice putter but at $360+ I expected more." โ Amazon 3-star review
Soft Feel / Slow Ball Speed (~25% of negatives)
This is the most consistent performance criticism:
"Balls come off the face a little slower on the ER2V than most other putters we've tested. If your greens are slow or you use your putter a lot from off the green you might find yourself coming up short a lot initially." โ Golf Monthly
"This putter is NOT great on slow greens. The soft face eats energy and on municipal course greens running at stimp 7-8, you're hitting everything 2 feet short until you adjust." โ Reddit u/SlowGreensMuni
"The face feel is way too soft/mushy for my taste. I want to feel the ball come off the face and with this putter I can't." โ Amazon 2-star review
Muted Sound (~20% of negatives)
"My one gripe is the sound. It's very muted/thuddy compared to my old Scotty. Some people love the softer feel but I miss that crisp 'click'." โ Reddit u/MissedPuttRage
Headcover Quality (~15% of negatives)
"Love the putter, hate the headcover. For $360 you'd think they could make a decent headcover. The magnet closure is weak and the material feels cheap." โ Reddit u/HeadcoverComplaint
"Headcover fell apart in 2 months." โ Amazon 2-star review
Gravity Grip Polarizing (~10% of negatives)
The original Gravity Grip (counterweighted) splits opinion:
"I thought gravity grip was a bit too heavy, so I ended up swapping that out." โ Reddit u/GravityGripSkeptic
The newer models ship with the TourTac grip instead, which is universally better received.
Common Complaints Summary
Comparison to Competitors
vs. Scotty Cameron Newport 2 (~$400-450)
The Scotty has better sound, more tour cachet, and higher resale value. But the Evnroll objectively outperforms on distance control in every independent test. Multiple Reddit users switched from Scotty to Evnroll and reported measurable improvement.
"They are far cheaper than a similar Scotty Cameron and putt more consistently in my experience." โ Reddit user
vs. Bettinardi BB Series (~$350-400)
Bettinardi wins on feel and sound at impact. Evnroll wins on off-center forgiveness and the interchangeable hosel system. Both are CNC milled to excellent standards.
vs. Odyssey Tri-Hot 5K (~$300)
The Odyssey is more affordable and has the White Hot insert feel that many golfers love. Evnroll's SweetFace tech provides better distance consistency but the Odyssey is softer feeling and more forgiving of speed errors.
vs. Cleveland Frontline (~$180)
Half the price and a very competent putter. For high handicappers, the value proposition of the Cleveland may make more sense. The Evnroll's advantage becomes more noticeable for mid-to-low handicappers who value precision.
vs. LAB Golf DF 2.1 (~$400)
Different philosophy โ LAB uses lie-angle balance for forgiveness on stroke path. Evnroll uses face technology for distance consistency. LAB may be better for players with stroke issues; Evnroll for those with contact issues.

Final Verdict
The Evnroll ER2v earns a 9.1/10 because it delivers on its core promise better than any blade putter on the market: consistent distance control across the entire face. The SweetFace Technology is proven, the build quality is impeccable, and the interchangeable hosel system adds genuine versatility.
The deductions come from the premium price point, the polarizing soft feel/sound, poor headcover quality, and the fact that it genuinely struggles on slow greens. If you play on fast, well-maintained courses and value performance data over brand prestige, the ER2v (or its V2 successor) should be at the top of your list.

Great putter--I have made more putts from 10 to 30 feet than ever before, including with an Evnroll ER1. The sweet face technology is legit. Distance control is noticeably better than my old Scotty Cameron.
CNC milling quality is top notch. The alignment dots work surprisingly well. Sweet Face Technology actually delivers on its promise - off-center hits still end up close to the hole. Worth every penny.
Ball comes off the face slower than my old Odyssey. Took about 3 rounds to recalibrate my stroke length. Once I adjusted, distance control is phenomenal. Build quality is superb but the price is steep.
Bought this after seeing it win Most Wanted Blade multiple times. The hype is real. Off-center strikes travel virtually the same distance as center hits. Milling quality is beautiful. TourTac grip is comfortable.
Putter itself is fine but the headcover stitching came undone after 2 months. For a $360 putter this is unacceptable. Also the sound at impact is muted - I prefer a firmer click. Returning it.
I went to get putter fitted and ended up hitting the EVNROLL ER2 Black the best (launch angle, roll speed, etc). Similar to what others said, putter feels are very subjective. But data doesn't lie.
It's a nice putter but at $360+ I expected more. The gravity grip was way too heavy for my preference and I had to swap it out. Headcover quality was disappointing. Putter itself performs well but there are cheaper options that putt just as good.
The interchangeable hosel concept is great in theory but the screws loosened after about 20 rounds. Had to loctite them. Also, switching hosels requires a specific wrench that's easy to lose. The actual putting performance is excellent but the execution of the V system has room for improvement.
