Verdict
The Blast Motion is the best swing analyzer for data-hungry golfers and serious students of the game. But the app reliability issues and subscription model hold it back from a higher score. If you want data and will actually use it with a coach or structured practice plan, it's excellent. If you just want a general idea of your swing speed, simpler (and cheaper) options exist.

As an engineer, I love the depth of data this provides. Tempo ratio, face rotation, speed โ it's all there. The slow-motion replay with data overlay is incredible.
Bluetooth disconnects constantly. App crashed three times during one practice session. When it works, it's great. But it works about 60% of the time.
Blast Motion gives you amazing data but you need a coach to interpret it. Without context, you'll just be drowning in numbers you don't understand.
The putting analysis feature alone is worth the price. Being able to see your stroke tempo and face angle data has really helped my putting consistency.
Good hardware but the subscription model is annoying. You pay $150 for the sensor then need a monthly sub for full features. Just let me buy the product outright.
I use Blast with my tour players. The data quality is excellent and the metrics align with what we see on Trackman. Great complementary tool for swing analysis.
