Toast, bagel, waffles all come out perfect. I personally found it too messy for air frying breaded shrimp. But perfect for air frying homemade fries, kale chips, tofu, brussel sprouts or salmon. I rarely use my oven or microwave anymore. I pretty much cook everything in this or my cast iron skillet. As a single person,  it's perfect. Also, if you ever have leftovers. The baking convection is a must. After using to warm up food. You will wonder why you ever used a microwave! I did end up getting a Corsori Air Fryer for things I find are messy. Way easier to clean than the Cuisinart and because it's smaller. I store under my cabinet. If I'm doing homemade jamaican jerked wings and fries. I'll put the wings in my Corsori and fries in the Cuisinart. That way they are done at the same time. As an Air Fryer only, I wouldn’t say this would be ideal for a family of three or more. It's for one or two people. I had read it gets extra hot, so turn the temp down around 25 degrees less than the recipe calls for.  Perfect results in toasting, baking, and air frying - does it quick.  Pretty easy to clean (wipe all inside with soapy water after its used and cooled).  I lay a sheet of foil on just the inside of the drip tray so it doesn't touch anything else of the oven and the basket will hold it down so it's easy to clean as well.  My only complaint is the basket - grr, have to soak and then scrub with a nylon brush (I'm lazy). But I did burn items when I first got it. It is powerful. When the recipe says 400, I use 350. Meats are great, along with baked potatoes, white or sweet. The temperature wheel isn’t a problem. I have had three Air Fryers.  The first two had all of the digital control options and eventually broke.  I suspect the complicated circuit boards just failed due to the high heat .  I picked this unit because of the simpler controls from a part-to-break and usage standpoint.  Setting the exact temp to me is only necessary if you are following a recipe but for us, we are using these air fryers daily for 20-minute cooks and we cook by eye and gut so knobs are fine.  It's no different than cooking on a stovetop.  You just feel it.  Cooking a whole chicken or something would require an exact temp but we would use the oven or green egg for something like that.  My wife also loves this oven because it's simpler to use than the all-digital ones for her and I agree.  I mean I always use the manual function and adjust temp and time anyway so why have an option for fish or pork for example?
