I find the machine does not regulate the strength properly. I make 2 cups every day, 2 cups of water is all I put in the reservoir and the coffee maker grinds enough beans for 4. I have to add hot water to it, which means I now put one cup of water in the reservoir and then put one cup of water in the microwave to add to the carafe. I find that by the time I get to my 2nd cup of coffee I have to heat it up in the microwave so the carafe does not work as well as I would like. Also, the pot sprays coffee when pouring the last cup, you have to take the lid off or you’ll have coffee everywhere. I don’t like babysitting it, but I’d rather babysit it then get rid of it because of the grinding mechanism. I have disliked it from day 1. The grounds are too large, resulting in a weak cup of coffee, no matter what setting I use. My workaround has been to use the highest, strongest setting for grinding, then I need to grind 6 cups of beans and add only 5 cups of water to get anything decent enough to drink. On the weekends I use ground coffee to give the grinder a break, but now, as in your demonstration, I can see the coffee is not evenly saturating the grinds, resulting in, yet again, a weak cup of coffee. I clean it every 6 weeks with Clean Caf from Urnex. Recently I tried using their clean function with vinegar to descale, even though I only use filtered or bottled water. It still sucks! A $25 Mr. Coffee makes better coffee than this. Total waste of time and money, I’m so disappointed in this especially since the original was my holy grail.
