I would like to nominate the Bosch Universal Plus stand mixer. I bought mine from Pleasant Hill Grain about 10 years ago, and it's a real beast IMO. I've made probably 50 batches of 6-7 loafs of whole wheat bread in it. I've used it to process hundreds of pounds of veggies with the slicer / shredder for pickles, various squash or zucchini bread, potatoes for french fries, cole slaw ingredients etc.\n\nWe've made countless batches of muffin batter, and even made marshmallows once. \n\nThe bowl attachments etc are very strong, mostly are dishwasher safe, and if I hadn't lost the dough hook, I wouldn't have needed to buy a new one (though the new optional all stainless steel one is recommended if you want to dishwasher it).\n\nThe thing is surprisingly tough. We'll take a bunch of zucchini and just be pushing it down into the spinning shredding blade as hard as we can - no problem.
